SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT, GOVERNANCE AND GLOBALISATION

African Forum for Envisioning Africa

Sustainable Development, Governance and Globalisation: An African Forum for Strategic Thinking Towards the Earth Summit 2002 and Beyond -- This Forum organized jointly by Mazingira Institute, African Academy of Sciences (AAS), Africa Peace Forum and the Heinrich Böll Foundation, took place in Nairobi in September 2001. The focus was to facilitate strategic thinking towards sustainable development, governance and globalisation from an African perspective. The major outputs were a vision and set of values to guide sustainable development amidst the new realities; the major policy issues to address, and the strategy choices or alternative actions that are available and their associated payoffs. An Executive Summary of the results of the Forum was presented at the African Regional PrepComm held from October 15-18, 2001 in Nairobi.

The papers have been compiled in the publication below.
