On 27th August 2010, Kenya's new democratic constitution was promulgated.

The Member of Parliament for Mandera Central, Abdikadir Mohamed Hussein is Chairman of the Constitution Implementation Oversight Committee of the Parliament of Kenya. In this position, he is responsible for oversight towards implementation of the new and democratic constitution.

On September 21, German President Christian Wullf awarded him the German Africa Prize 2011 from the German Africa Foundation.

In an audio interview, he talks about the benefits of the new constitution, the Kenyan bill of rights and his country's role in the international community.
